THINGS TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW ABOUT THE RECITAL

  • All accounts must reflect a zero balance no later the JUNE 4TH.  This includes balances owed for summer camps.  If your account still has a balance, your child will not be allowed to participate in the dress rehearsal or the recital.
  • Recital Pictures will be taken by Shooting Star Photography and are optional.  The cost is $25 - this price gives you full access to all of the digital photos taken during the recital.  You will also have the option to purchase prints.  Checks should be made payable to Selena Miller with the dancer's name in the memo line.
  • Every year, we ask for Mom volunteers  to help us out backstage in the little girls dressing room.  Please know that if you volunteer for this position, you will be required to remain backstage for the entire recital!
  • NO ONE is allowed to go backstage from the audience area during the recital.  All non-dancers (or backstage workers) will be cleared out beginning about 15 minutes prior to showtime.
  • NO ONE is allowed to take photos of any sort inside the dressing rooms during recital!  Devices will be confiscated if a dancer/worker breaks this rule.

RECITAL DO'S AND DON'TS

  • Dancers are not to have on underwear beneath their tights.
  • Hair Tips:
    • Hair must be up for recital.
    • Please choose a hairstyle that can be secured and will last for hours - bobby pins and hairspray are your friends!
    • Buns, french braids and high ponytails work well.
  • Makeup Tips:.
    • You can never have too much foundation and blush for the stage - the lights tend to wash a person out
    • I suggest that you use a darker color eyeshadow in the crease of the eye.
    • I will let you know if your child needs changes to their makeup during the dress rehearsal.
  • Misc:
    • No extra jewelry should be worn.
    • No colored nail polish of any kind should be worn - only clear polish is allowable (this includes toes if you perform barefoot at any time).
    • Make sure that the dancer's name has been clearly identified on EVErYTHING being brought backstage.  The dressing rooms get pretty chaotic with so many girls changing so often.  It is very common for items to get mixed up together.
